Our People

David Hatton | Managing Director

Dave Hatton

David has been working for the family business for over 40 years. He unofficially started work as a compositor during his school holidays at the tender age of eleven when he used to stand on a milk crate to set type! After leaving school he studied Printing and Print Administration at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and has since gained experience in all aspects of the trade. During his spare time he runs a very successful Explorer Scout Unit and in his leisure time he can be found either fishing, running, cycling, underground, underwater or up a mountain somewhere in the world.

Colin Hatton | Production

Colin Hatton

Colin has spent all his working life in print, but even before leaving school he was helping out on the machines and in the bindery of the London factory. On leaving school he spent two years at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, learning the print trade from management to design and production. Colin still gets his hands dirty daily, working on all aspects of production in the Crowborough factory. Out of work his time is spent sailing his RS600 trapeze dinghy or crewing in an RS800 skiff. He is a keen snowboarder, something he finds totally addictive and can't get enough off piste rides.

Mike Mahoney | Administration

Mike Mahoney

Mike is responsible for all production administration from estimates through to invoicing. He has worked in print all his life and still relishes a challenge. Technology has reduced many problems in print which means we can now plan work in hours rather then days. In his spare time he enjoys a round of golf and would like to play more tennis but the bones creak for a few days after - technology has not solved that problem!
